Does PLR Save Time And Effort?

Yes, it can, and frequently does - but not always.

The main reason why buying PLR materials might not save you time is because the quality is so bad that it will take you more effort to fix it than it would to create it from scratch yourself. I’ve learned this lesson the hard way during the past decade or more, so the PLR suppliers listed on my Resources page are ones I use myself to this day and am happy to recommend.

But assuming you find yourself a good PLR provider, then there are a few other factors to consider.

For example, how closely does the content meet your needs? Are you looking for articles or a report that you can more or less publish as is, or are you looking for something you can expand on so that it better fits your site?

Next, there is the question of “voice”. Every writer and every business develop their own style and tone, and use words and phrases that suit them. If you find a PLR provider whose content is already close to your own style, you can save a bunch of time, but if not, you might have to do more rewriting to make it fit.

Should You Edit Or Rewrite The PLR Content?

One of the reasons people buy PLR content is to save time, as discussed above, but if you publish what you receive without changing it, you run the risk of your articles being identical, or similar, to those available on other sites.

This need not be a huge issue, but it can be worth taking the time and effort to rewrite the content, not only to suit your own style, but also to make it different from other people’s.

You don’t, of course, need to completely rewrite it, but it is advisable to make changes to it.

In particular, I would change the article title and any headlines, since these are often what search engines look for first. (If you want to take your PLR to the next level, I highly recommend a report called "How To Tweak Your PLR eBooks In 20 Minutes Or Less And Make Them Impossible To Ignore & Irresistible To Buy... Even If Your Market Is Saturated With CrapGPT Content & Thousands Using The Same PLR".)

This is also why I do not provide featured images to go with the articles I offer. You should look for your own images (via the stock images sites listed on the Resources page), or even create your own via one of the many AI image creators that are now available, which will guarantee your images are unique.

Change The Medium

By this, I mean you don’t have to publish what you purchase in the same format.

For example, you might have bought pack of individual articles, but there’s nothing to stop you compiling those into a single report, either to give away as a lead magnet or to sell as an ebook. Alternatively, if you buy a report, you can split that into multiple shorter articles (maybe as content for your membership site), or use it as email content (maybe in an autoresponder series).

With some of the software (e.g., Synthesys) now available, you could even turn articles into videos and publish them on YouTube (or elsewhere) with minimal effort. Of course, if you don’t mind appearing on video yourself, or, at least, doing a voice-over, you can record your own videos.

Or, you could take the content and use it as a script for a webinar or your own training course.

The point is, don’t feel you have to use your PLR content in the same format or medium as it was when you purchased it.
